yurt (yûrt) n. : A circular, domed, portable tent used by nomadic peoples of central Asia.

yesterday evening i had my first encounter with a yurt. it looks as cool as it sounds. we snowshoed our way there, making a lot of noise (as people are prone to do) with our breathing and stomping and shuffling. our leaders had lamps that they strapped to their foreheads and we did as best as we could when night fell. i feel like an intergalactic explorer when i encounter nature. and the yurt is the mothership. and the snowshoes are space boots.
